Who we are

Founded in 2019 by Tef Poe. The Crow Life Records Story

Crow Life Records was founded by Tef Poe and his longtime collaborator Jay Stretch, with key guidance from the legendary St. Louis emcee and producer Fresh Voice, also known as FreshMan of Legend Camp. What started as a mixtape series, Crow Life, drew inspiration from Lil Wayne's The Drought is Over, but Tef envisioned something bigger—a groundbreaking, independent movement rooted in the spirit of Nipsey Hussle’s ALL$IN philosophy.

Hailing from St. Louis, a city shaped by the resilience of the Ferguson Uprising, Crow Life Records represents more than just music. The crow symbolizes transformation, survival, and a way forward through art, fashion, and a deep connection to the land. For Tef Poe, the crow reflects his multifaceted journey—not just as a political figure in the streets of St. Louis, but as a healer, a lover, and a thinker.

"I’ve gone from the hood to the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland. From the block to Harvard University. I started as an undefeated Freestyle Friday Champ on 106 & Park and went on to work overseas with the U.S. State Department and the University of North Carolina as a cultural ambassador to the country of Jordan in North Africa. A black bird from the ghetto can rise and do his part to change the world. That’s the spirit of Crow Life."

Though no longer affiliated in a professional capacity, Tef Poe is also a co-founder of BMB St. Louis, a movement dedicated to building power and inspiring leadership within the community.

Crow Life Records is a cultural force, blending innovation and authenticity to empower communities and inspire change through creative expression.
